DTP has now been in the modification/tuning/racing business for more than six years. Combined, our staff sports more than 40 years experience.
That's 40 years of making power!
Our core team consists of Frank Cottone and Brent Hughes. All installations are performed on site by Sean Kelley of Kelley Performance.
Below you will find a brief description of these ninjas.
Frank- Raised in Georgia. Joined the Navy at 17 and became a FC (Fire Control Tech) and worked on the Phalanx Close In Weapons System (CIWS). After 6 years of service, was honarably discharged in 1989. Started a paint contracting business in 89', opened "Cool Tan" tanning salon in 1992, sold the paint business in 1993. Opened a second salon in 1998.
Cars have always been a passion and a hobby, starting with a 1971 Chevelle SS w/ a 402 BB. Started autocrossing in 1989 with a Dodge Shelby GLH, then moved into a 90' Mustang. After 5-6 years of autocrossing, got into open track (road racing) events. The Mustang ended up being transformed into a 515 rwhp car with big brakes and a suspension capable of pulling over 1g on the skid pad. In May 99' the car graced the cover of 5.0 Magazine.
In late 02', along with friend/new business partner (Brent Hughes), opened Dyno Tuned Performance, Inc. as there was a need for a dyno tuning facility in Hampton Roads. Business took off quickly and required all of our attention, so the tanning salons were both sold so the shop could be the main focus.
Current cars: 2006 Chrysler SRT8 300- slightly modded (415rwhp and 425rwtq), 1999 Corvette- heavily modded, 402 stroker motor, 6/4 piston brakes from 06+ Corvette Z06, suspension upgrades, custom paint, 2004 Infiniti G35- slightly modded, 19" staggered wheels, Tein coil over suspension, Brembo brakes.
Hobbies: Road racing, a little drag racing, skateboarding(yep, even at my age...LOL), working out and spending time with family.
