Advise on quirks with 03 Cobra.. 8 Months, 4 Weeks ago
Well, some issues have come up with the Cobra lately and I was looking for some input on where to look and what may be needed..

First off, its an 03 Cobra with a little less than 30K on the clock. Mods are upper, CAI and full exhaust. The car was tuned by Ed Clark at another location in the 757. Its currently putting down 458/451 at 12.66 psi..

The issue Im having is low speed bucking and idle surging. To simplify it, the car DOES NOT like to be driven below 2000 RPM or you can hear the drivetrain slapping around due to it surging. Also, when the car is stationary you can run the tach up 2K, 3K. 4K, 5K and it will miss HARD.. I mean it misses so hard that the tach drops.. The plugs look good as they were the first thing I pulled. I believe that they are NGK something or anothers TR7ix?

I think maybe the fuel table is jacked in the tune? Bottom line is, it never did this crap when it was stock.. I know a modded car isnt gonna run like it came off the show room floor but I sure as hell didnt expect to lose drivability... Maybe thats having your cake and eating it too?

The other issue is a breif hesitation between WOT shifts. I suspect the PPRV to be the issue and may need a PPRV delete.

DTP!! What if anything can you suggest? How much to install a PPRV delete and retune with SCT?? I used to love the car and now Im starting to hate it..

Hey EV1L svt, A couple questions: what plugs exactly are you running and what are they gapped at? should be running NGK TR-6 copper. Are you running stock coils? If not, I would suggest going back to stock coils.

I would recommend that we get the correct plugs in the car, then set up a tuning session to see if everything can be taken care of via the tuning.

Shoot Brent a call to set up a tuning 549-3966 xt 2

Ill get you the plug and gap information when I get home from work.. As far as the coils, they're stock and havent been changed or modified. I really hope that its all just a tune issue and can be resolved.

I have the SCT handheld that I was given when the car was tuned so I assume that I wont need another... I hope.

ED Clark that's you're problem. My car had the exact same issues you are having now. Quick fix go to DTP and don't look back. Oh by the way is your cobra silver by any chance and if it is i met you at jenro's a while back we talked briefly and u told me ed clark was going to be tuning your car, and i told you bad idea his tunes are jacked up and that you should take it to DTP and talk to Brent. If this is the same guy.
